Navigating Midlife Wellness: My Journey and Secret Weapon

Today, I want to share a personal story that transformed my health and well-being during the perimenopause/menopause journey. It's about embracing vulnerability, seeking professional guidance, and committing to self-care. As a Health Coach myself, I discovered that even with my knowledge, I needed help navigating the complexities of midlife changes.

The Turning Point


🙋🏼‍♀️ I asked for help! That's right - my secret weapon was acknowledging that I didn't have all the answers. Unable to figure things out on my own, I sought the assistance of a qualified Dietitian specialising in women's health during perimenopause/menopause. This decision marked the beginning of my transformative journey.


The Journey


🙋🏼‍♀️ I committed to myself: Recognising the importance of self-commitment, I made a conscious decision to prioritise my well-being.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I invested money into myself: Realising the value of professional guidance, I invested in a qualified Dietitian, understanding that this was an investment in my health and future.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I was vulnerable: Opening up about my struggles and seeking support required vulnerability, but it was a crucial step towards healing.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I cried (good tears): Finding someone who truly heard me brought a sense of relief, and those tears were a testament to the emotional weight that had been lifted.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I showed up to every appointment: Consistency is key. Attending every appointment allowed me to stay on track and receive the guidance I needed.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I tracked my food and exercise: To build a foundation for progress, I diligently tracked my food and exercise. This not only provided valuable data but also helped me identify blind spots in my wellness journey.


The Importance of Sharing and Tracking


The reason for sharing my journey and tracking my progress was simple - knowledge is power. By having data to work with, I could tweak my approach, celebrate wins, and most importantly, identify and address my own blind spots.
